On Tuesday, 10/17/23 Dr. Brian Biermann, Superintendent and Building Principals, Cindy Apple and Dr. Amy VanRheen surprised the newest selections for 2024 Elementary and Secondary Teachers of the Year.
Elementary Teacher of the Year is Cambria Fleming. She is a Special Education Teacher at Broadmoor Elementary. Fleming was nominated for being devoted to helping her students be successful in their classes with peers, supporting classroom teachers, being imaginative and creative when solving problems for students and always willing to help. Fleming has been teaching special education at USD #416 since August 2019. Congratulations Mrs. Fleming!
Secondary Teacher of the Year is Kathryn Siefken. She is a Spanish Teacher at Louisburg High School. Siefken was nominated for making learning fun, yet pushes her students to become proficient in a whole other language. She has successfully initiated and continued the seal of biliteracy program at the high school. Seifken is also co-sponsor for STUCO and coach. Seifken has also provided opportunities for her Spanish learners to travel abroad. Seifken has been teaching Spanish at USD #416 since August 2014. Congratulations Ms. Siefken!
