Academic Award Letter
The awarding of academic letters at Louisburg Middle School is part of an effort to call attention to significant academic achievement exhibited by students, and as a means of demonstrating the importance of academic achievement as an integral part of our total school program. Academic letters are also seen as an incentive to stimulate students to better academic performance.
Criteria
Students must maintain an overall minimum grade average of 3.7 for each of the two semester grading periods in the school year. A student may not have a āCā
semester grade to be eligible. Students are eligible to receive a letter at any time from the end of the sixth grade year through the end of the eighth grade.
After awarding of the letter, students who continue to achieve a minimum grade average of 3.7 are awarded a bar for each subsequent year of academic achievement.
Students who achieve a 4.0 grade average (all A grades) are awarded a star along with their letters.
Letters will be awarded at an Honors and Awards Assembly in the late spring.
