| 7th and 8th Grade Tech classes
are one semester in length. Students will investigate 8-10
areas of technology. Students will be engaged in hands on learning. Some projects include building wooden towers and bridges, designing and building rockets and CO2 race cars, designing and decoration a house using a CAD program, creating a stop motion video, investigating properties of plastics and electricity and solar cooking hot dogs. The class will emphasize math, science, and problem solving skills and well as teamwork. |
6th Grade Tech classes are one
semester in length. Working with a partner students will investigate the areas of Aviation, Automation, Computing, Exploring, Communication, Processing, Weather, Manipulation, Simulation, Illumination, Modeling, Robotics, Engineering, Materials Testing, Pendulums, Electricity, Architecture, and Teamwork. Some hands on projects include building a hot air balloon, a helicopter, a glider, building and testing trusses, injection molding golf tees, creating simple machines, and building and controlling a merry-go-round via the computer. |
