Two Horizon Award Honorees
Two Louisburg teachers were officially recognized for their outstanding working during their first year of teaching. On Friday, January 15th both Broadmoor Elementary's fifth grade teacher, Sarah Smith and Louisburg High School's social studies teacher, Jenna Jones were each notified by Dr. Diane DeBacker, interim Kansas Commissioner of Education.
Both teachers are now members of the Kansas Exemplary Educators Network (KEEN). KEEN functions as a network of outstanding teachers in the state, including Teachers of Promise, Horizon Award winners and Teachers of the Year. As Horizon Award winners, Sarah and Jenna will now have access to professional development tools in the state of Kansas.
