2009-10 Kansas Assessment Information
for Parents
Are you smarter than a 5th grader?
Seriously, if you are curious about the content being tested by
Kansas Assessments this spring, you might want to check out the
links below. These links will take you to Kansas Priority Assessed
Learning Standards (PALS) booklets for grades 3-high school.
Each PALS booklet provides a quick reference to the 2009-10
assessed standards in reading and mathematics. Items shown in each
document are merely a part of everything being taught. As our
former Kansas Commissioner of Education, Dr. Alexa Posny points out
on the opening page,
"The complete list of standards
for reading, mathematics, writing, science, and history/government
as well as non-assessed models standards (communication, dance and
creative movement, driver education, environmental education,
health education, library media and technology, music, physical
education, school counseling, theatre, visual arts, and world
languages) can be accessed at
http://www.ksde.org/Default.aspx?tabid=1678."
